❄️ Frosty Days Ahead:

Winter brings the joy of snowflakes, holiday candles, hot chocolate, and cozy nights by the fire– but also the challenge of managing dry, sensitive skin for both adults and the tender skin of babies. As the thermometer dips, you may notice the harsh weather taking its toll, leaving your skin in need of a little extra TLC.

This winter, we’re deepening our efforts with Aveeno®, to address skin health equity, ensuring that managing sensitive skin becomes a less daunting task for adults and babies. If you need help navigating this season to keep your skin nurtured through the frosty days ahead, then keep on reading because we’re here for you!

Essential Winter Skin Care Tips: 🧴

The cold winter air can be unkind, but with a few key steps, you can keep your skin supple and comfortable all season long. Here are a few tips to help:

  1. Moisturize Religiously: Moisturize Religiously: Moisturizing is your skin’s best friend during winter. Aveeno® offers a range of products that contain colloidal oats to help soothe eczema flare-ups and dry, itchy skin, lock in moisture, and keep skin hydrated even on the coldest days. Check out their sensitive skin collection here.
  2. Gentle Cleansing: It’s essential to stick to mild, fragrance-free cleansers that will clean without over-drying or irritating your skin.
  3. Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water is crucial for maintaining a healthy skin barrier. Aim for at least 8 cups daily.
  4. Humidify Your Space: A humidifier can reintroduce moisture into dry winter air, helping to keep your skin hydrated.
  5. Bundle Up: Protecting your skin from the cold wind and low temperatures by covering up can prevent skin irritation. Don’t forget about the earmuffs, gloves, and scarves!

Baby Skin Care: 🍼

The tender skin of babies requires a delicate touch, especially during winter. Here are some baby-specific tips:

  1. Lukewarm Baths: Keep bath times short and the water lukewarm to prevent drying out your baby’s skin. 5-10 minutes should be just fine for your little one.
  2. Moisturize: Apply a gentle moisturizer like Aveeno® Baby on your little one’s skin to keep it hydrated and comfortable.
  3. Dress in Layers: Layering helps to keep your baby warm without overheating. Opt for breathable, natural fabrics like cotton.
  4. Seek Professional Advice if Necessary: If your baby experiences severe dry skin or eczema, it might be worth checking in with a pediatric dermatologist. They can help provide specialized treatments and guidelines tailored to your child’s needs.
