This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re focusing on something that we really need to talk about in our communities: Complex PTSD (C-PTSD). This chronic trauma condition stems from continued exposures to events, people, places, or things that traumatize a person, and it usually starts in childhood or adolescence.

As you navigate adulthood while trying to heal from your past, symptoms such as being hypervigilant, not being able to emotionally regulate yourself, and challenges with relationships can get in the way of feeling like you’re doing this adulting thing right. While C-PTSD can feel invisible, it has very real and long-term consequences for your physical health and mental wellbeing.

So how do you know if you’re dealing with C-PTSD? How do you separate the typical challenges of being an adult from hardships exacerbated by C-PTSD? What are the steps you can take to heal from it? And what makes healing from C-PTSD so different from the treatments for other mental health conditions?

Join us for this community conversation that creates space for messy adulthood within the context of sustained trauma. We’ll figure this out together. 💛
