Be Curious, Not Judgmental: Respectful and Affirming Approaches to Exploring Black Queerness, Sexuality, and Sexual Health
As we get older, growing into our most authentic selves is one of the greatest pleasures in life. This can look like opening up to new experiences, challenging societal norms, and being patient with the process. For many people, this includes exploring further possibilities for one’s sexual identity and practices, as well as the complexities that come with them.
Sexuality exists on a spectrum and can be fluid, and Black Queerness is a specifically unique and multifaceted experience. So when you’re exploring them from a place of genuine curiosity, how do you figure things out without causing harm to others or negatively impacting yourself? How might you prioritize both your physical health and emotional wellbeing as you consider what parts of Queerness resonate with you? How can you find and nurture culturally affirming connections, communities, and resources for purposeful learning and accountability?
Join us on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, for a community conversation that discusses intentional ways to explore identity, sexuality, and sexual health while removing self-judgment, exploitation, and carelessness from the journey.
No matter how you identify or how old you are, questioning and learning more about yourself is always a good thing for personal growth. Here’s to safer, respectful, and affirming exploration! 🏳️🌈
