Soulful Sustenance: Breaking Up with Diet Myths, Uplifting Our Cultural Nutrition
You are invited to “Soulful Sustenance: Breaking Up with Diet Myths, Uplifting Our Cultural Nutrition” with Katia Powell-Laurent, Holistic Nutrition Practitioner and Founder & CEO of Black Girls Nutrition.
It’s a new year, and many of us have made resolutions around food so that we can be our best, healthiest selves. However, in a society heavily impacted by diet culture, some of the common guidance around nutrition can trigger unhelpful (and sometimes harmful) food practices.
Join us on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 for our first community conversation of the year, as we explore ways to engage in healthful eating that honors the foods of Black cultures and doesn’t restrict us to “mainstream” diets that may not resonate with our bodies. Bring your questions about the ancestral and traditional foods you love and anything else that you can think of!
Make sure you save your seat and come start the year right with culturally-affirming food practices! ✊🏾🍽️😋
